Numark MIXTRACK PRO DJ SOFTWARE CONTROLLER WITH AUDIO I/O by Numark
I Purchased this controller for Christmas after reading many good things about it. I've played around with different controllers before I made my decision on the Mixtrack Pro and being my first "owned" controller I am very pleased. The built in sound card is convenient as it was not built into the regular Mixtrack, the platters are sturdy and have excellent response in terms of scratching etc. The browser knob in the center of the console allows you to browse your iTunes library and choose which songs to cue next. Although this controller is about 90 percent plastic, it still is durable and lightweight for travel purposes. If your looking for a decent controller but are looking to stay low in the price range, the Mixtrack Pro is the way to go.
Energy 5.1 Take Classic Home Theater System (Set of Six, Black)
I have recently purchased this system paired with a Denon AVR1508. And all I can say is WOW!
I originally purchased the POLK RM705 package, and kept them all of 2 days, brought those back and got the Klipsch Quintet III paired with the KSW10 subwoofer, on both systems all the satellites' did was nothing but scream at you and the subwoofer distorted at low to medium levels regardless of what I threw at it, music or home theater (KSW10 not quite as bad). Needless to say they went back as well, I know I am picky! I was going to give up on the 5.1 package and go get bookshelf speakers or towers.
However ENERGY has changed my view on the 5.1 kit! ENERGY has also made very nice high end speakers for a while now, which have always been very efficient, crisp and clean, and they have done it again! Music and Home Theater purely sound superb! The satellites' do not scream which helps the subwoofer compliment the overall sound, hence not missing the mid range. This helps in accomplishing the full sound that I believe we all desire.
I do only have one small complaint. I do have to turn the subwoofer down when jamming normal music (stereo 2.1) or there will be slight distortion from the subwoofer, however for the money and the fact the 5.1 systems are pretty much entirely designed for movies... top notch! And a slight turn of the knob once or twice a year when the time calls for really cranking up the volume, not a huge issue!
As far as home theater no subwoofer issues there! The subwoofer produces extremely clean, tight, deep bass, which makes any explosion or thunder shake the couch. The satellites' in any listening configuration are absolutely unbelievable, clean, clear, crisp, enabling you to hear fingers actually sliding over the guitar strings as they are being strummed, incredible!
Do yourself a favor and go listen to these if you are in the market for a 5.1 system and make sure to bring the check book as you will need it, I did!
I hope this helps as this is a fairly new HT system and there are not a whole lot of reviews out there, but the ones that are, seem to agree with mine!

There is a reason that this product has almost all five star reviews. It works exactly as promised.
Installation is simple, the provided directions are very clear, and the necessary glue is provided. Just glue the plastic bracket to your shower tile (the back of the bracket has grooves labeled for where the glue goes, so you can't make a mistake), wait 24 hours, and you are good to go. Before you glue the bracket, I suggest putting the mirror on it to make sure you attach the bracket at the height that works best for you. If you are a little off, don't worry because the bracket has a built in swivel that lets you adjust the angle of the mirror. This is also handy for people of two different heights to use the mirror when they shower.
The mirror is not made of glass, but rather a reflective surface that is more than clear enough to shave if your face is within about 9" from the mirror. If you move away, there is a barely noticeable "fun-house" distortion (though you can still see clearly), which becomes noticeable only if you rock back and forth from the mirror. Since I doubt most people will do that while shaving, such distortion is a non-issue.
If you follow the simple directions of filling the reservoir in the back of the mirror with warm water when you turn your shower on, the mirror will not fog. And if you forget and the mirror does fog, then just fill the reservoir with water and the fog will disappear (I purposely did this to see what would happen if I let the mirror fog without water in the reservoir, and then filled it afterwards).
While you shower, water droplets will collect on the mirror surface instead of fog. This will not interfere with your ability to see well enough to shave. However, if they become excessive, the provided squeegee will easily remove them. NOTE: The squeegee works better than a towel, which tends to "smear" the droplets and not produce a clear surface for shaving.
Taking the mirror off, filling it with warm water, and slipping it back on are very easy. There is no need to worry about the mirror falling off, and no need to worry about fog.
Before I discovered this product, I used to use Fog-Tech (an excellent product that I have reviewed on Amazon) on a regular mirror, and it did work to prevent fogging for a few days at a time, after which another application was necessary. But this product is much simpler--all you need is warm water. I also no longer have to worry about rust forming on the base of a regular mirror that discolors my shower tiles.
Bottom line: For a fog free shaving experience this works great. I really like this product and recommend it.
Update October 23, 2010: The other day I forgot to empty the reservoir after I showered. The following day when I showered I was so interested in a radio program that I forgot about the mirror for the first five minutes. At that point it was totally fogged up, and when I removed it, I saw that there was still water in it from the day before. I dumped the water out, filled it, and also let shower water run down the face of the mirror. In less than 30 seconds the fog disappeared, and just one wipe of the squeegee cleared the excess water from the mirror, which was then nice and clear for shaving. It was like magic.
Update November 13, 2010: I'm always looking for shortcuts in using products. I did an experiment. I did not remove the mirror from the stand and empty the water. Instead I let it fog up with the old water in it. I then filled a 12 oz plastic mug with hot shower water and poured it in the already full reservoir, assuming that the warm water would displace the existing cold water. It took only two mugs full of water and the fog cleared.
So now when I take a shower, I just leave the mirror in place all the time, don't empty the water, and just pour warm water into the already full reservoir until the fog clears. This works great.
Update December 8, 2010: This is still working great, and is especially easy to use now that I have stopped removing it to empty the water. This is definitely the shower mirror to buy for shaving. For those who like to listen to the radio in the shower, I recommend the Sangean shower radio (which I have reviewed on Amazon) that I have been using for the past 16 months.
Update March 7, 2011: I have been using this for almost five months, and it still performs flawlessly.
I have read a recent negative review claiming that the mirror fogs up. This is clearly a case of "user failure" or a defective product (I suspect the former) since there is no way that this mirror will fog up if you put warm water in the reservoir before you shave.
I have also read a recent review that the squeegee does not remove every last drop of water, and that if you have hard water (I do) then calcium spots will develop on the mirror when the surface dries. True, but all I do is rinse them off each time I shower, so this is not really an issue.
Update May 23, 2011: I am still using this product without any problems. I got tired of using the plastic mug routine that I described above and now simply take the mirror on and off to empty and refill it. To make it easy to guide it back on, I use my forefinger to locate the slot on the wall bracket, and then just slip the tongue on the back of the mirror right into it. It's really effortless with a little practice. For a fog free shaving experience, this is definitely the way to go.
Update August 15, 2011. Still working fine. Taking the mirror on and off the bracket has become second nature to me, and now seems so easy and simple that I can't imagine why I ever thought that it was an issue that required a workaround, as I described in an earlier comment.
Update October 6, 2011: The company has now come out with a "deluxe" version that has a 20% larger surface area, battery operated LED lighting (two levels of brightness) around the edge, and a squeegee that works more effectively. It uses the same bracket as the original version. I received the new version at no cost from the company in exchange for writing a review, which I have posted on Amazon. Only you can decide if the "improvements" are worth an extra twenty dollars.
Update August 6, 2012: The company now has a compact travel version of this mirror, which you can also use for everyday use if you want a mirror that will attach without a bracket and glue (it uses rubber suction cups).

I have been using this product for 10 months now 2-3 times a week for 30-45 minute swims. The original H20 buds i bought with the unit were horrible. I had the unit on full blast to hear any music while swimming and they kept falling out. I finally decided to spend the cash and bought the underwater audio headphones for $30.00. These things are night and day compared with the H20 headphones. I have the audio output at 2/3 of max and they stay in the 95% of the time. I might adjust them after the first couple of laps but then they are good to go, and the cord is much shorter. I am not sure why H20 audio has so much cord for underwater headphones. I have had no issues with the waterfi so i have not had the opportunity to deal with the customer service from them. But you need to be careful and keep water out of the inside of the unit where the heaphone jack plugs in. I rinse the unit then let it air dry before removing headphone plug or recharging.

03 - It really has everything you need 4 pockets - [1-expands over 1/2" thick][1-has the window for the ID]
04 - It's as thin or thick as you want, depending on what you carry in it (since the main pocket expands like an accordion)
05 - The price in UNBEATABLE - this thing could cost double and I wouldn't blink (but then again I may not have taken the chance on it)
06 - It's so functional - everything comes in and out so easily (the leather is really soft and supple)
07 - The smell - I know you may think it's weird, but leather just smells good.

Overall, it is beautiful, compact (nearly half the size of my old wallet) and has the ability to expand to over 1/2 thick - you can fit nearly anything in here.
The price, I feel like I should send the company a few more dollars. I mean, it's worth more than they are selling it for. I'll probably buy 2 more just to have if/when this one wears thin, I'm actually happy my dogs chewed up my old wallet!

Fast, Portable Water Boiler
The jetboil system is a must. I have been using the jetboil for four season now and it is perfect for those who just need to boil water and rehydrate freeze dried food. The system all stores in the boiling cup and snaps together and ready for use in about 10-15 seconds. It has a built in starter so in theory you don't even need matches. The older system had a very fragile auto-starter that was prone to cracking and so in the middle of a trip you might suddenly need matches. They have since improved the auto-starter and I have found the new filaments quite reliable. The newer color change indicator is also a nice feature. It isn't necessary, as you can usually tell when the water is coming to a boil from the steam and gentle sound of the water rolling to a boil, but the color changer is a nice touch that means you can just sit back and wait for the color orange to appear on the indicator and "presto" your water is ready for coffee, freeze dried meals, oatmeal, etc...
I don't do any complex cooking when backpacking, and for those who want to do more than just boil water, the jetboil will do it, but other stoves probably are lighter and do it better. But if you want a system for boiling water and freeze dried food prep there is no more simple, reliable, and quick system. Clean up is incredibly simple as well and it all fits together in the cooking cup for easy packing (the butane cartridge also fits within the cup. The jetboil can be used fairly well without the tripod stabilizer, but it is another nice small feature that adds to the overall functionality of this product (after all, who wants to have their hot water spill over just as you are getting ready for lunch)
For high altitude Butane cartridges are not usually as reliable, but I have used the jetboil at 11,000 feet with good results.

This is the best unit of its kind we have ever used. It is well constructed and the swivel end makes it more convenient than similar products. It is also one of the longest. We not only use it to get to out-of-reach things, but it is extremely handy when picking up small branches and twigs from the yard - and we have a Big yard. Saves lots of bending. We now have three - house, shed, and garage.

As a huge fan of older films and music, I am very aware of the many attempts of studios and record companies to reissue and re-market a previously released product in a new and improved format. While many of these reissues are often superior to their previously released counterparts, I have never been one to buy into the "upgrades". I feel that you don't need to have the best sound, the crispest picture, or the excess of supplemental materials in order to enjoy a film and have it affect you. In all my years collecting music CD's (particularly jazz) and DVDs, I think I've upgraded no more than three items from my collections.
I had been hearing for a while now about a new version of Seven Samurai coming out on Criterion that was supposed to have a brand new transfer from a recently discovered source that was to be greatly improved from any other previous edition. Being one of the most beloved films of all time (and one of mine as well), this has been creating alot of excitement in the world of film lovers. Being perfectly satisfied with my version of the Seven Samurai DVD from 1998, I had no plans to upgrade, but a side by side comparison on an internet site peaked my curiosity. And yesterday, being at a local retailer, I saw it on the shelf and decided to spring for it.
Let me tell you....if ANY of you are on the fence about this one, particularly those of you who are big fans of this amazing film, I advise you to go for it. The difference between this edition and the previous edition is so drastic that I could not believe my eyes and ears. I have never had this experience with a DVD before, but the improvements in picture and sound quality are SO great that I actually felt like I was watching Seven Samurai for the first time. The clarity of the picture is absolutely amazing. The glorious black and white tones are much richer, but what's most impressive is how nearly all the imperfections, scratches, and blemishes that were so prevalent on the previous edition have been removed. You can tell why this edition took so long to get released....Criterion obviously took alot of time with this one. Their efforts paid off. Also, the sound has been greatly improved as well. Not only have they cleaned up the original mono soundtrack, but they've added a stereo surround track as well. Normally, I cringe at these "new and improved" soundtracks on old films, but this track does not sound artificial at all, but rather more like an enhanced version of the mono track. The stereo surround track together with the gorgeous new picture made for a unique experience watching the film. You are still watching the great Kurosawa classic that you know and love, but at the same time it seems that even more life has been breathed into it. Didn't think that was possible for such a perfect film, but Criterion proved any doubter wrong.
Please keep in mind that I haven't even gotten to the bonus materials, the commentary tracks, nor the very attractive book yet. And there isn't much more that I can say about this amazing film that hasn't already been said. Just based on the presentation of the film itself in this new package from Criterion, I would highly recommend to everybody who loves this film and is thinking about upgrading their version of the film, that you do so. Its beautiful. And remember, this is coming from someone who doesn't generaly care for "upgrades".

Prices fluctuate but at the time I wrote my review Amazon's charger is competitively priced as a 'quality' USB charger, especially if you get it through the half-price deal if you order it together with your new Kindle Fire. If you must pay full price... shop around and do read the reviews. because not all 1.8A or 2A chargers are going to work well with the Kindle Fire.

Most USB chargers will work with your Kindles as well but they may not be as quick as the Amazon-branded device unless the makers claim so and the reviews confirm it.
If I rated it on its own merits, as a universal charger, it would be a five-star but, since it was meant to work with the Fire HD and it's NOT included in the HD box, I am deducting 1 star (see note below).
